As long as the environment is regarded as 'resource' to be exploited -- this sad and unnecessary story will repeat itself many times.
Under the currently dominant system the regulator body [eg. govt agencies like KLH, DepKeh] are married in various level to the corporation., the business world. And unfortunately corporations are not required to behave like a human being [ie.with sensitivity, ethic or moral] -- corporations main responsibility is to satisfy its share-holders and investors so that they will benefit financially period. This is their ethics! other matters are of PR concerns.
Without a leader that is caring, thoughtful and proud of its rich socio-ecological cultural heritage -- nothing will ever change for the better for the Talang Mamak people. And our treasured forests along with all its precious inhabitants will be forever gone. The question is where is this leader?
